How many drops of Lion's Mane per day?

One serving of our Lion's Mane Triple Extract is 1 ml, which is four pumps, and we recommend one serving a day. The label runs from 1 to 3 ml a day, so the most it calls for is 12 pumps. Press the pump four times under your tongue and hold it there for 30 to 60 seconds before you swallow, or stir the four pumps into a glass of cool water.

Drops, droppers or pumps?

At our market booth, the dose question often comes in drops. Is it one drop or two? A full dropper or half of one? Our bottles answer it with a pump instead, so there are no drops to count and no line on a glass tube to squint at.

Four presses make 1 ml, so one press is a quarter of a milliliter.

Plenty of people call a liquid like ours a tincture, and a tincture usually means alcohol. Ours is a water-based extraction, suspended and stabilized in vegetable glycerin, with no alcohol in it. If you're still deciding between a liquid, a powder and a capsule, our guide to choosing a mushroom extract walks through it.

How much Lion's Mane should you take a day?

We recommend one a day to start. You may take more as needed, up to the label's three servings, each one another four pumps.

Andrew Johnson, who runs the farm, keeps one bottle by his French press and a second in his fanny pack for whenever the need calls for it.

How do you take Lion's Mane drops under the tongue?

  1. Shake the bottle.
  2. Press the pump four times under your tongue.
  3. Keep it there for 30 to 60 seconds, then swallow.

Store it in a dark, cool place between servings.

Under the tongue not for you? Put the four pumps in water, juice or a shake. Lion's Mane has heat-sensitive compounds, so keep it out of anything hot. Cool or room-temperature water is best. If putting it in a drink is what makes you take it every day, do that instead. Consistency matters more than the method.

How long does a bottle last?

Our 1 oz bottle holds 30 ml, or 30 servings. The 2 oz holds 60 ml, or 60 servings.

Servings a day Pumps a day 1 oz bottle lasts 2 oz bottle lasts
1 (1 ml) 4 30 days 60 days
2 (2 ml) 8 15 days 30 days
3 (3 ml) 12 10 days 20 days

At one serving a day, the 1 oz is a month and the 2 oz is two. Both sizes are on the Lion's Mane Triple Extract page, where a subscription can send your bottle every 30 or every 60 days, which lines up with one serving a day on either size.

How much Lion's Mane is in one serving?

Each 1 ml serving carries 1,887 mg of Lion's Mane extract.

The part we use is the fresh fruiting body. It's Lion's Mane we grow ourselves, on wood, in New Smyrna, and it goes into the extract fresh. Lion's Mane benefits can show up early and stack up with daily use, and the label says it's best taken daily. For what Lion's Mane is known for, see Lion's Mane benefits.

Is it the same for Reishi, Chaga and Turkey Tail?

The serving is the same on all our extracts: 1 ml, four pumps. Reishi is best under the tongue like Lion's Mane, while Turkey Tail, Chaga and Trifecta are best stirred into a drink.

The deeper read: why a pump, why shake it, and why hold it

Why a pump. Drops and sprays are both standard ways to take a liquid under the tongue, and a spray usually sets its dose with a metered valve. [1] A pump is how we measure ours: four presses make the label's 1 ml serving.

Why shake it. A liquid made for under the tongue carries what's in it one of two ways: dissolved, or suspended. [1] Ours is suspended in vegetable glycerin, and a shake spreads it evenly through the bottle before you press.

Why hold it. How much gets taken up under the tongue depends heavily on how long the liquid stays there. [1] We ask for 30 to 60 seconds for that reason. The same review explains why the route is used at all: what's absorbed under the tongue goes straight into circulation, skipping the first pass through the liver. [1]

Why ultrasound and nano-encapsulation, either way you take it. Formulations built from very small particles cross the lining under the tongue more easily. [1] When the liquid is swallowed in a drink instead, very small droplets help compounds dissolve and make them more bioavailable, and ultrasound is one of the ways those droplets are made. [2] That's why we make our extract with ultrasound and nano-encapsulate it.
