Damaged, wrong, or didn't arrive right? We replace it immediately. No forms, no fight.

What makes this different
  • Whole mushrooms. Turkey Tail and Chaga wild-foraged in Michigan, Reishi half from there and half from our farm.
  • No grain filler, no mycelium grown on grain and dried into powder. You get the mushroom, nothing else.
  • No alcohol, solvent-free, triple-fraction extraction.
  • Sold face to face at Central Florida farmers markets every week. You can shake the hand that made it.

A lot of the generic mushroom powders in tubs are mostly the grain the mycelium grew on. This is the whole mushroom, extracted.

What it is

What this actually is

Turkey Tail, Chaga Mushroom* and Reishi are what go in the bottle. Turkey Tail and Chaga work on your gut, Reishi works on calm and balance, and one milliliter in your morning drink covers all three. Our partner forages them wild in Michigan, except the half of the Reishi we grow here, and we extract all three ourselves.

Reishi, Turkey Tail and Chaga: the three mushrooms in the bottle.

What it is
Three mushrooms that grow on wood: Turkey Tail, Chaga and Reishi
Part used
Whole mushrooms, all three
Traditional usage
Teas and tonics. China, Japan, Russia.
Modern usage
Gut and immune support, taken daily.

What Triple Extract means

Our first batches were alcohol tinctures. At an early farmers market a customer told us straight out that it was hard to take, and that's why none of our extracts are made that way now.

The "triple" in the name is the extraction, not the three mushrooms. Every bottle comes from a triple-fraction, multi-phase exhaustive extraction of whole mushrooms. No alcohol at any point. No solvents at any point. Just a full-spectrum extraction process formulated to preserve the compounds found in the whole mushroom.

The research has only looked closely at a few of those compounds. So we use all three mushrooms whole, not just the few compounds that happen to have been studied.

How to take it

In a drink, or under the tongue

Step 1

Shake the bottle.

Step 2

Stir one milliliter into a glass of water, or any drink you like. That's how we'd suggest taking this one.

Or

Under your tongue works too, if you prefer it that way. Hold it there for about sixty seconds, then swallow.

The taste surprises people. It's sweet with a slight tart edge, from a dash of apple cider vinegar. You can take up to three milliliters a day, though most people do just fine with one.

Where it fits in your day

Four points in an ordinary day where it actually fits

Trifecta is a morning extract, and it goes in a drink. The bottle that gets used is the one with a place in a day you already have, so here are four places it fits. Put the bottle where you'll see it, by the coffee machine or wherever you already go every single morning.

First thingWhile the coffee is brewingThis is the habit worth building first, and the rest of this list is what to do on the mornings it doesn't happen.
Before a morning workoutOn your way to trainIf you train in the morning, that's one of the few things you do at the same hour every day, which makes it an easy peg to hang a habit on. Fill your bottle with water, add a milliliter, and it's done before you're out the door.
At breakfastIn a smoothie or a glass of juiceIf breakfast is a smoothie or a glass of juice, stir it in there. It's the same milliliter, in a drink you were already having.
Mid afternoonThe catch-up servingIf the morning went past without it, take it now. A milliliter in a glass of water at three beats a perfect routine you didn't keep.

Always

Wild-foraged by our partner in Michigan, with half the Reishi grown on our own farm. Extracted by us. Whole mushrooms. No alcohol, no solvents, water based.

Never

Mycelium grown on grain. Fillers and cheap binders. Anything hiding inside a proprietary blend. A claim we can't back up. A substitute for care a doctor has prescribed.

Absorbed

Why this is a liquid you stir into a drink

Stirred into a drink, a serving goes down through your stomach, and that's where nano-encapsulation earns its keep.

Under your tongue is a different road in, if you'd rather.

A liquid also makes a serving easy to take. One milliliter in a glass, no alcohol burn, nothing harsh to push through.

  • Nanoemulsification
  • Nanoencapsulation
  • Stirs into any drink

Every step, from the extraction to the milliliter in your glass, is there so that what we pulled out of the mushrooms is still there when it reaches you.

What to expect

The first day, the first weeks, and the long run

Everyone at the booth asks the same thing first. How fast will I feel it? Here is the honest answer, in the order it usually happens.

The first days

The first question anyone asks at the booth.

Day one is about the habit: one milliliter in your morning drink. Trifecta isn't really a feel-it thing. It works on your gut and immune system over time, more about balance than a buzz.

The first weeks

Give it at least four to six weeks before you decide.

Same amount, same point in your day.

A month in

The bottle is either on the counter or it isn't.

A month in is when you can judge it. Look at the whole month, not any one morning. If Trifecta has earned its place in your routine, the bottle stays on the counter.

Which makes the next part the important part. Not the timeline. The habit.

Your first bottle

One serving is 1 ml. The 1 oz bottle is thirty mornings. The 2 oz is sixty, and it ships free on its own. Subscribe and either size costs less, and the per-day figure under each price does the arithmetic for you. You can pause or skip whenever you need. Nothing is charged until checkout.

Grown and foraged

The mushrooms in this bottle grew on wood: wild in Michigan, and half the Reishi on our own farm

Our partner in Michigan forages the Turkey Tail and the Chaga wild, and half the Reishi. The other half of the Reishi comes from a wild Florida strain we found, cloned, and now grow outdoors under wild-like conditions. Every batch is extracted right here.

Grown and foraged The Chaga comes off birch. All three grow on wood, never in soil.
Brought in whole Whole mushrooms, and only the mushroom. No grain, no filler.
Extracted here On our farm in Florida. No middleman between the forest and the bottle.
Handed to you Sold face to face at four Central Florida farmers markets every week, and shipped from here.
Andrew Johnson on the farm in New Smyrna.

New Smyrna, Florida Where every batch is extracted, on land that's been farmland for over a hundred years.

Extracted by Andrew Johnson and the team at Florida Shroom King, New Smyrna. You'll find us at four markets a week, and you can ask us anything you like. Meet the farmer

Who it's for

Not sure this is your one?

At the booth, when someone asks about Turkey Tail or Chaga, I typically recommend Trifecta: it has all three together. Each one on its own has its place, and they come separately too. If focus is what you're after, Lion's Mane is the bottle for that, and it fits the same morning. Not sure? Take the quiz.

Chaga is technically not a mushroom; it is a sterile conk on birch trees.

Extract or powder

An extract and a powder are two different products

Both get sold as mushroom supplements, so the difference is easy to miss. This compares the two categories, not two brands.

Trifecta Triple Extract compared with mushroom powders
Compared on Trifecta Triple ExtractWhat you get here Mushroom powdersThe category
What is in it Turkey Tail, Chaga and Reishi, whole. The mushrooms themselves. Milled mushroom material, and in many products the grain the mycelium was grown on.
Whole or milled The whole mushrooms, then extracted into a liquid. Milled, and sold as the powder.
Extracted or ground A triple-fraction, ultrasound extraction in water. No alcohol, no solvents. Usually milled rather than extracted.
How you take it One to three milliliters, stirred into a drink or held under the tongue. A scoop, mixed into a drink or into food.
What a serving is One milliliter, thirty or sixty servings a bottle. A scoop, measured by volume.
What is added Glycerin, apple cider vinegar, sunflower lecithin. Varies by product.

If you came here comparing liquid to capsule. A capsule is usually dried mushroom or extract powder in a shell that you swallow. We don't make one. This is the mushroom pulled into a liquid you stir into a drink, or hold under your tongue for about sixty seconds. Both are fine ways to take a mushroom.

And you can find the person who made it. We extract all three ourselves, and we hand it to people at four Central Florida farmers markets every week. Quality from the forest to the finished product.

01

Glycerin

Vegetable glycerin. The base everything else sits in, the reason there's no alcohol, and the only preservative in the formula. It's mildly sweet, which takes the edge off the taste.

02

Turkey Tail

Whole fruiting bodies, foraged wild in Michigan. 629mg in every serving.

03

Chaga

Whole Chaga conks, wild-foraged off birch in Michigan. 629mg in every serving.

04

Reishi

Whole fruiting bodies, half grown on our farm from a wild Florida strain we cloned, half wild-foraged in Michigan. 629mg in every serving.

05

Apple cider vinegar

A small amount, for flavor. It's the tart note, and it softens the taste.

06

Sunflower lecithin

The encapsulation aid. From sunflowers, not soy.

One serving is one milliliter. The one ounce bottle holds thirty servings and the two ounce holds sixty.

Traditional use

Who has used them, and why

In China, Turkey Tail is yunzhi, the cloud mushroom, and in Japan it is kawaratake, the mushroom by the river. In China it was brewed as a tea, recorded as far back as the Ming dynasty, in the 1400s. Traditional Chinese medicine used it to strengthen the body and increase energy.

Chaga grows on birch across the cold north. Russian folk medicine has records of Chaga going back to at least the sixteenth century, especially among the Khanty people of Siberia. The old way was to break the black crust away, crush the golden inside, and boil or steep it into a tea, and people there trusted it as a tonic and a restorative.

Reishi's Chinese name is lingzhi, and the ancient Taoists sought it out. Chinese tradition held that Reishi calms the shen, the word for a person's mind and emotional balance. In Japan it became Mannentake, the ten-thousand-year mushroom.

That's tradition, and much of it is legend, and we call it that. What brings people to them now is different. Gut and immune support is why they go into the morning drink today.

Safety

This is concentrated. A bottle holds far more mushroom than a cup of tea would, so read this part before your first serving.

We grow mushrooms. We're not doctors, and this isn't medical advice. What follows is what the preparation is, who should ask someone qualified before starting, and how to start carefully. One serving a day. If anything feels wrong, stop.

Side effects.

This is a concentrated extract of three mushrooms, so the sensible way in is one milliliter a day and nothing more until you know how it sits with you. If something feels off, simply stop taking it.

Medications.

If you take a prescription medication of any kind, ask your doctor or your pharmacist before you start.

Pregnancy and nursing.

If you're pregnant or nursing, ask your doctor before taking any mushroom extract, this one included.

Allergies.

If you have a mushroom allergy, do not take this. It's a mushroom extract, and there's no version of it without the mushroom.

Pets.

Never give a dog Trifecta: it contains Chaga, which can be high in oxalic acid. For pets, Turkey Tail and Reishi on their own are the two people reach for.

Speak to a doctor first if any of these apply to you: pregnancy or nursing, a blood thinner, an immunosuppressant, chemotherapy, a kidney condition or a history of kidney stones.

Ask us anything

Good questions

The things people ask us at the booth

Does Trifecta have side effects?

This is a concentrated extract of three mushrooms, so start at one milliliter a day and stay there until you know how it sits with you. If something feels off, simply stop taking it. If you have a mushroom allergy, don't take it at all. We're mushroom growers rather than doctors; the safety section on this page has what we do know.

Can I take it with my medication?

The safety section on this page is where we answer this properly, and it covers pregnancy and nursing too. An extract is more concentrated than a cup of tea, which is the part worth knowing before you read it.

How long does it take to actually kick in?

Trifecta isn't really a feel-it thing. It works on your gut and immune system over time, so give it at least four to six weeks at the same amount and the same point in your day before you decide. The what-to-expect section on this page walks through the first days, the first weeks and a month in.

Why take three mushrooms in one bottle instead of separately?

Because they cover different ground. Turkey Tail and Chaga work on your gut, Reishi works on calm and balance, and one serving covers all three. If you're taking mushrooms for general upkeep rather than one specific goal, this is the simpler way to do it.

What does it taste like?

Sweet, with a tart edge from a little apple cider vinegar. Taste is the reason we stopped using alcohol.

How is this different from a powder?

A powder is milled mushroom material, and in a lot of products most of what you're buying is the grain the mycelium was grown on. This is whole mushrooms that have been extracted, so what the mushrooms hold ends up in the liquid instead of staying in the milled material. You take a milliliter rather than a scoop.

Do I have to take it under my tongue?

No. Trifecta goes straight into a drink. Stir a milliliter into a glass of water or any drink you like. Under your tongue works too, if you'd rather.

Can I take it with Lion's Mane?

Yes. Trifecta has no Lion's Mane in it, so the two don't overlap. Lion's Mane is the bottle for focus, and it fits the same morning. The Flow + Digest + Rest Stack carries Lion's Mane, Trifecta and Reishi together.

Can I give it to my pet?

Not to a dog. Trifecta contains Chaga, which can be high in oxalic acid. For pets, Turkey Tail and Reishi on their own are the two people reach for.

Where do the mushrooms come from?

The Turkey Tail and the Chaga in this bottle are wild-foraged in Michigan by our partner, the Chaga off birch trees. Half the Reishi is foraged there too, and the other half we grow ourselves in New Smyrna, Florida, from a wild Florida strain we cloned. We extract all three here.

How does the subscription work, and can I stop it?

You pick your size and it arrives on a schedule, so you don't run out partway through. Skip or pause your deliveries whenever you need, right from your account. No phone calls. Pause for up to three months at a time. After your second order, you can cancel from the same place.

When will my order arrive, and do you ship fresh mushrooms?

Extracts ship in one to three business days, and shipping is free over forty dollars. Fresh mushrooms are a different thing entirely. They're farmers market pickup only and we never ship them. If you want fresh, come and find us at one of our four markets.

Where to find us
