What makes this different
  • Whole fruiting bodies. Lion's Mane we grow ourselves in New Smyrna, Florida.
  • No grain filler, no mycelium grown on grain and dried into powder. You get mushroom, not oatmeal.
  • No alcohol, solvent-free, triple-fraction extraction.
  • Sold face to face at Central Florida farmers markets every week. You can shake the hand that made it.

A lot of the generic mushroom powders in tubs are mostly the grain the mycelium grew on. This is the whole mushroom, extracted.

What this actually is

The whole mushroom, extracted.

An extract is the whole mushroom, concentrated down into a liquid you take by the milliliter. Depending on which one you take, it supports your focus, your calm, your gut, or your immune system. We skip the alcohol most brands use, because alcohol tastes bad and makes an extract hard to take every day. We found a better, broad-spectrum, solvent-free way to make it instead.

No alcohol
Solvent-free
Whole fruiting bodies
Triple-fraction

What does "Triple Extract" mean?

The name is literal. Every bottle comes from a triple-fraction, multi-phase exhaustive extraction of whole fruiting bodies, including a high-pressure hot-water fraction and cooler, temperature-sensitive fractions that protect the delicate compounds heat would damage. No alcohol at any point, no solvents. A standard tincture leans on alcohol; ours uses none, which is why the flavor is mild enough to hold under your tongue.

What it does

How to take it

Three easy ways

Step 1

Shake well, then hold 1ml under your tongue for 30 to 60 seconds.

Step 2

Or stir 1ml into a glass of cold water or any drink you like.

Step 3

Or work it into a light meal. Fruit especially. That works, though I'd point you to a drink first.

The flavor surprises people. It's sweet and silky, an apple flavor with a mild tartness, no more sour than a piece of fruit you'd actually enjoy eating. Lion's Mane keeps its own fruity edge on top of that, closer to tamarind than to the harsh alcohol tinctures that make people quit taking it. That's why we went looking for a better way to make it. When we moved away from alcohol, the flavor got better, and honestly, so did the way it made us feel.

From our farm in Florida

The Lion's Mane in this bottle grew in shade under our outdoor greenhouses.

Outdoor growing takes more work than a climate controlled room. We do it anyway, on land that has been farmland for over a hundred years.

Grown here Shade grown outdoors on our farm in Florida.
Picked whole Whole fruiting bodies, harvested by hand.
Extracted here Same farm, no middleman between the two.
Handed to you Sold face to face at Central Florida farmers markets.

Who made this? Andrew Johnson, Florida Shroom King. He grew the mushroom, made this extract, and hands it to people at the market himself. Meet the farmer

Built to absorb

An extract only works if your body can absorb it

Mushroom compounds are hard for your body to take up, and most products stop once the extraction is done. We kept engineering past that point. Three things in this bottle work on absorption itself.

  • Nanoemulsification
  • Nanoencapsulation
  • Sublingual liquid

Every step, from the extraction to the dose under your tongue, is there so your body can use what's in the bottle.

Extract or powder

An extract and a powder are two different things

Both get sold as mushroom supplements, so the difference is easy to miss. Here is what separates them, plainly.

Lion's Mane Triple Extract compared with generic mushroom powders
Compared on Lion's Mane Triple ExtractWhat you get here Generic mushroom powdersThe category
What is in it Whole fruiting bodies. The mushroom itself. Often mostly the grain the mycelium grew on.
Fresh or dried Extracted from fresh fruiting bodies. Made from dried, milled material.
Extracted or ground A triple-fraction, ultrasound extraction. Cryo-extracted. No alcohol, solvent free, pure water base. Ground into a powder.
How you take it 1ml, under your tongue or stirred into cold water. Nanoencapsulated. A scoop mixed into a drink or into food.

And you can find the person who made it. We grow it, we extract it, and we hand it to you at four Central Florida farmers markets every single week. Quality from fruit to finished product.

Here is what each one is, and the job it does in the bottle.

OTHER INGREDIENTS Glycerin, Raw Apple Cider Vinegar, Distilled Water, Sunflower Lecithin.

01

Glycerin

Vegetable glycerin. The base everything else lives in, the reason this is alcohol free, and the only preservative in the formula. It is mildly sweet, which takes the edge off holding it under your tongue.

02

Lion's Mane

Whole fruiting bodies, grown on our own farm and extracted fresh rather than dried first. 1887mg of it in every 1ml serving.

03

Apple cider vinegar

A small amount, for flavor. It softens the taste so the extract is easy to take.

04

Sunflower lecithin

This is the ingredient behind the nanoencapsulation. Paired with the glycerin, it is what lets the extract absorb under your tongue instead of being swallowed first. It comes from sunflowers, not soy.

One serving is 1ml. The 1 oz bottle holds 30 servings and the 2 oz holds 60.

When to take it

Where it lands in a normal day

Lion's Mane is a morning extract. These are the four points in an ordinary day where a dose actually fits, so the bottle gets used instead of sitting in a cupboard.

First thingThe start of your day1ml into a glass of cold water, before you make coffee. Cold water rather than hot: heat is hard on the compounds you are paying for. Lion's Mane is a morning extract, and this is the habit worth building first.
Before a morning workoutOn your way to trainIf you train in the morning, that is one of the few things you do at the same hour every day, which makes it an easy place to hang the habit. Fill your bottle with cold water, add 1ml, and it is done before you are out the door.
Before a long stretchA block of deep work or studyIf your day has a long sit-down in it, a build, a paper, a morning of writing, take it before you start rather than partway through. Under the tongue is the quiet option when you are already at the desk and there is no glass of water in reach.
Mid afternoonWhen the afternoon runs longThis is the hour most people reach for another coffee. If the morning got away from you, it is a fine time to catch the one you missed. 1ml in cold water at three beats a perfect routine you did not keep.

What to expect

The first day, the first weeks, and the long run

Everyone at the booth asks the same thing first. How fast will I feel it? Here is the honest answer, in the order it usually happens.

Day 1

Some of it can land the same day

You may notice something the first time you take it. With Lion's Mane many people describe more mental clarity and less of that midday fog. With Reishi it is more often a better night's rest. Hold 1ml under your tongue for thirty to sixty seconds. If your first day is quiet, that is normal, and it is not a sign the bottle is not working.

The first weeks

Give it two to four weeks

This is the stretch where taking it daily starts to matter. Same amount, same point in your day. Two to four weeks is the window I ask people at the booth to commit to before they decide what they think. Judge it at day ten and you are judging it early.

A month in

It stacks

Some of what these do is slower again. Months, not weeks. That is not a reason to wait, it is the reason to stay consistent, because the slow part only happens for people who are still taking it. A month in, you are not checking whether you felt it. You are just taking it.

Which makes the next part the important part. Not the timeline. The habit.

A daily routine, not a one-off

Take it every day and notice over time

This is a real extract from a real farm that you take every day and notice over time. Lion's Mane and Reishi, a lot of people feel something the same day. Other benefits build with regular use and stack over time. Take it daily, stay consistent, and it helps your body adapt. That's the whole idea.

Always
  • Either grown on our farm or wild-foraged by partners we trust, and always extracted by us.
  • Whole fruiting bodies.
  • No alcohol, solvent-free.
Never
  • Mycelium grown on grain.
  • Fillers, cheap binders, or a vague “proprietary blend.”
  • A claim we can't back up.

Good questions

The things people ask us at the booth

How will it make me feel?
It depends which one you take. Lion's Mane leaves most people clear-headed and more focused, with less of that midday fog. Reishi helps you feel balanced and settled, not drowsy or knocked out. Turkey Tail, Chaga, and Trifecta work on your gut and immune system over time, more about balance than a buzz.
How soon will I notice anything?
With Lion's Mane and Reishi, a lot of people notice something the same day. The gut and immune ones work quieter, so give those a few weeks. Either way it builds. The people who get the most out of it are the ones who take it every day and stay with it.
What does it taste like?
For most people the Lion's Mane tastes good: sweet with a little tart edge, a bit like tamarind or a mild balsamic. All of them are easy to take. If you don't love the taste of one, put it right into a drink and you're set.
How do I take it?
With Lion's Mane and Reishi, hold 1ml under your tongue for 30 to 60 seconds. Chaga, Turkey Tail, and Trifecta are better stirred into a glass of cold water or any drink. Some people add theirs to food, though I'd steer you to a drink. Whatever gets you taking it consistently.
How much do I take?
One 1ml serving is the standard, and most people take it first thing in the morning. That is four pumps. On a day with more demand you can go up to 3ml. Start at 1ml, stay there a while, and see how it sits before you change anything.
Can I put it in my coffee?
Cold water is the better call. Heat breaks down the compounds, so a hot cup works against the extract. Stir it into a cold drink or take it under your tongue, and have your coffee after. Plenty of people on Lion's Mane find they reach for less coffee anyway.
Should I take it in the morning or at night?
Lion's Mane goes in the morning. It reads as clear focus rather than a stimulant, so it sets up your day. Reishi is the evening one, taken before bed. The gut and immune ones are not time-sensitive, so take those whenever you will actually remember. If you want both ends of the day covered, that pairing is the Day & Night Shroom Stack.
Where do the mushrooms come from?
Lion's Mane we grow ourselves in New Smyrna, Florida. Reishi is half and half: our partners in Michigan wild-forage one half, and the other half we grow ourselves from a wild Florida strain we found and cloned. Chaga is wild-foraged in Michigan, Turkey Tail in Oregon, both by partner wildcrafters we know by name. Every extract is made from wildcrafted North American mushrooms, whole fruiting bodies only.
Do you test your extracts?
We are pursuing third-party testing and will acquire it as soon as genuine testing methods are available. Right now only beta-glucans are reliably tested. Mushrooms carry hundreds of compounds, so testing is an emerging and complicated process.
When will my order arrive?
Extracts ship in 1 to 3 business days, and shipping is free over $50. Fresh mushrooms are a different story. Those are farmers market pickup only and we never ship them. If you want fresh, come find us at one of our four Central Florida markets.
How does the subscription work?
You pick your size and it arrives on a schedule, so you never run out partway through. Pause or skip anytime from your account. Subscribers also get first notice on small-batch and seasonal extracts before those go out to everyone else.
Can I give it to my pet?
I give my own dog Lion's Mane extract with his food every day. For pets in general, most people reach for Turkey Tail and Reishi. One rule: never give Chaga to dogs. It's high in oxalic acid, so keep Chaga to the two-legged members of the family.
Is it safe for everyone?
These mushrooms are generally considered safe. If you have a mushroom allergy, you should avoid this extract. If you are pregnant, nursing, or taking medication, check with your physician before use.
What makes your Lion's Mane different from other Lion's Mane?

We extract it fresh, from fruiting bodies we grew ourselves, instead of from dehydrated material like most companies use. Drying is hard on Lion's Mane, so going straight from the greenhouse to the extractor is most of the reason we grow our own in the first place.

Chaga is technically not a mushroom; it is a sterile conk on birch trees.

Not sure this is your one?

At the booth I usually ask how you sleep first, because when sleep is right, a lot of other things fall into place. That question sends most people to Reishi. Lion's Mane gets all the hype, and it's genuinely good, but the better fit for you might be one of the others. Not sure? Take the quiz.
